I have a user whose Outlookmailbox refuses to archive. This is in Cached exchange mode with 'All' for retention period. Even when we check 'Include items with do not archive checked'. We pick a really recent date and choose the whole mailbox and it waits a moment and does nothing. If we pick a specific folder (the sent mail has 3GB in it) and archive that, it doesn't move any files. I am archiving to a network drive, which I know is not recommended, however I haven't had any issues with any of my other Outlook 2013 installations. Is there somewhere I can look for any errors?
It doesn't report anything that I can see. I've seenthis problem in outlook 2003 a while back. Add the field 'modified date' in the folders that are not archiving and see what that date is. I've found out working in the past that archiving actually takes place based on last modified date, not receive or sent date.
This is a 'feature' with outlook. Old items that are moved (such as due to creating a new folder once you realize that your Inbox is growing big) are considered modified and they don't get archived. Try to reduce X in the 'archive items older than X days' field. Same issue with both Outlook 2010 and 2013. Applied the reg edit in both cases with no change. 17, 000 emails in Deleted Items going back as far as 2012. Configured archiving on this folder to permanently delete anything older than 12 months however when going to FileCleanup ToolsArchive, choosing 'Archive all folders according to their AutoArchive' setting and clicking OK, I see auto archive show a loading bar for a few seconds and then that's it, nothing is moved or deleted. Very disappointing feature.

However, if the issue is none of the above discussed, then reconfigure the Outlook for your email and import the OLM file. If you face any issue with the database, repair OLM file using whenever required.
